Why Did I Do It?
Ever since I learned about Bright Line Eating, I have wanted to be part of the movement, but have not been able to afford to do the Bright Line Eating Boot Camp… Even at its reduced rate of half price, which is around $400.00, it was still too expensive for me…
Earlier this month I watch a video offering the 14-day bright line eating challenge, the price included the challenge, the book Happy Thin & Free when it comes out, and a 1 month free trial of the new BLE app.
For about $29.00 I could get the 14-day challenge, the food plan, the book and 14 days of video support for the challenge… Finally, I could afford to get the food plan and even the book… I had to do it…
My Bright Line Eating 14 Day Challenge
Susan is wonderful, she knows her stuff… I wish I had a fraction of her memory… I just love watching and listening to her videos… Her enthusiasm is contagious.
The Way It Works
I learned a lot, by the way, Susan lays out the 14-day challenge. There is a getting started page where you have a handful of things to do before getting started… You don’t get access to the challenge videos until you affirm that you have done each of the Getting Started Steps. I forget exactly what all the steps were, but what I do remember is this.
One step is downloading the plan materials, Another is to get yourself a food scale, Then take a before picture or make a video & write down your before weight & height, measure yourself if you do not know your height. These along with a few other steps completes the getting started steps. When you have affirmed that you have done all the steps you are given access to day one, which will be emailed to you the following day.
How To Take An Accurate Weight
Did you know that there is a correct way to weigh? I know that I have always tried to be the lightest I could when weighing… I probably already did it this way but just in case you do not know, Susan says, “Weigh on an empty stomach, before eating or drinking anything, after using the bathroom, and naked”, I think there was mention of doing it the same time each day to…
Losing Weight With Bright Line Eating
For some losing weight with the Bright Line, Eating plan is fast & painless, and that is the sense I get from Susan, do it quickly, lose the weight, get over it as fast as possible, move on to maintenance… One way that she does that is by giving us a 1,200 calorie food plan. I can’t imagine most people not losing weight at that calorie range, especially if they are not already eating at a low calorie level.
For some though who have been constantly dieting, it may take more of an effort eating at that calorie level… Their bodies and Brains have been in starvation mode for a long time and just will not give up its chances of survival by letting them lose unwanted weight easily.
Bright Line Eating Real Whole Food
The Bright Line Eating food plan is a real whole food plan,,, which is very refreshing…
Susan says, that some say that the plan is more food than they can eat, it is just too much food. But others say that the plan is not enough food. Perspective right? Depends on what and how much you were eating before you started the plan.
Susan encourages us to stick with the plan for awhile and see if our bodies will adjust, but if not you can adjust your food plan up or down in ozs. so long as you are not changing it every day, she says, “make the change permanent”.
The Results Of My 14-Day Challenge
As you may know, I have developed my own real whole food plan, the calories I get on my plan is quite a bit more than the calories on the 14-day challenge. I currently eat over 2,200 calories a day and my weight is stable. I could not bring myself to drop down to that 1,200 calorie level. So while I followed all the videos and kept notes, I did not use the Bright Line Eating Food Plan…
Honestly, I seriously think that the calories in the BLE food plan are too low for me… I am afraid that if I ate at that calorie level it would cause me to start bingeing and eating junk food again… Also, if I lose weight at the 1,200 calorie level, I would have to eat around that level to sustain any weight loss.
So instead I am eating to full satisfaction, and working on making my body and brain bullet proof by feeding it the Real Whole Foods that it needs to feel secure and safe. At some time in the near feature I plan to lower my calories to promote more fat loss, but for now, I am feeding my body and my brain the nutrients it needs, something that years of dieting has interfered with…
